We are recruiting a Recruitment Consultant to join our specialist Commerce and Industry recruitment team in London. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your recruitment career while delivering permanent and interim appointments across commercial, operational and corporate functions. You will build relationships with high calibre candidates and clients, develop your market knowledge and deliver a professional, consultative recruitment service across the London employment market.

The Role

As a Recruitment Consultant, you will manage the full recruitment lifecycle across the London commerce and industry market. Working closely with experienced consultants and senior recruiters, you will:

  • Identify and engage candidates
  • Develop client relationships
  • Manage vacancies
  • Contribute to business development across a range of commercial and corporate functions

Develop specialist knowledge of the commerce and industry recruitment market, including roles such as sales, marketing, procurement, supply chain, operations, human resources, customer service and commercial management.

  • Identify and engage candidates using CV database searches, LinkedIn, job boards, referrals, networking and other recruitment channels
  • Conduct candidate screening and qualification conversations to understand experience, motivation, salary expectations, availability and career objectives
  • Build and maintain a high quality candidate pipeline for current and future vacancies, ensuring accurate records are maintained within our ATS - Bullhorn
  • Develop strong relationships with candidates, providing regular communication and a professional, consultative service throughout the recruitment process
  • Work with clients to understand hiring requirements, organisational structures, team needs and candidate specifications
  • Prepare candidate profiles, CV summaries and shortlists that meet agreed client requirements
  • Coordinate interviews, manage availability, gather feedback and support candidates and clients through to offer and placement
  • Develop new and existing client relationships through market knowledge, networking, business development calls, meetings and account management activity
  • Research companies, sectors and hiring trends to support market mapping, lead generation and consultant-led business development
  • Negotiate offers and manage the recruitment process professionally through to successful completion
  • Work towards agreed activity, performance and revenue targets while contributing to a collaborative, high performing team culture
  • Take part in structured training covering recruitment processes, candidate sourcing, sales, business development, market knowledge and client management

About You

We are looking for an ambitious, resilient and people focused individual who is keen to develop a successful career in recruitment. Previous recruitment experience is desirable but not essential; we are interested in individuals with strong communication skills, commercial awareness and the motivation to build relationships and achieve results within a target driven environment.

  • Previous experience in recruitment, sales, business development, account management or a related professional services environment is advantageous
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills, with the confidence to engage professionally with candidates, clients and colleagues
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in commerce, industry, business and the London employment market
  • Strong organisation skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple vacancies, client relationships and competing priorities
  • Resilience, self motivation and a proactive approach to achieving goals and responding positively to feedback
  • Confident negotiating and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility and develop trusted relationships
  • Comfortable working to activity, performance and revenue targets in a fast paced environment
  • Confident using digital systems and willing to learn ATS/CRM platforms, LinkedIn, job boards and other recruitment technology
  • A collaborative team player who is committed to delivering a high quality candidate and client experience
