Recruitment Consultant - Accountancy & Finance
We are seeking an ambitious and driven Recruitment Consultant to join our Southampton office, working on a busy and established Temporary Recruitment Desk within the Accountancy & Finance sector.
This is an excellent opportunity to work closely alongside an experienced manager, receiving hands-on support, coaching, and industry knowledge before gradually taking full ownership of the desk yourself. You'll inherit a successful, fast-paced desk with significant scope for growth and development.
Whilst previous 360 recruitment experience would be advantageous, it is not essential. We are open to considering candidates with a strong recruitment background or transferable experience who are eager to develop their career within a specialist market.
What You'll Be Doing
- Full 360 Recruitment Process: Engage in every aspect of recruitment business development and client acquisition to job briefings, candidate sourcing, interviews, offer negotiations, and deal closures.
- Candidate Sourcing: Utilise job boards, referrals, and headhunting via platforms like LinkedIn Recruiter. Source candidates via advertising, job boards, social media, and referrals.
- Key Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and candidates, offering exceptional service and advice. Network and build relationships with clients to drive sales.
- Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to ensure branch success and maximise cross-selling opportunities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
