Recruitment Consultant
Stockton on Tees
Full time – Flexible working – Early finish on a Friday!
Market leading basic salary, with an uncapped commission structure.
We've got the roles. We need someone to fill them!
That's the honest version of this advert.
Imperial Recruitment Group works with some genuinely good clients across engineering, manufacturing, offshore and energy, marketing and HR, and right now we have more live vacancies on the desk than we have hours in the day to fill them properly.
So, this isn't a role about cold calling, chasing terms or building a desk from nothing. We've already done that part. This is a pure delivery role for someone who loves the recruitment bit of recruitment: finding brilliant people, getting them in front of the right client, and getting them placed.
If you're a recruiter who's tired of being judged on call stats rather than placements, keep reading.
What you'll actually be doing
- Taking live briefs from our consultants and clients and getting straight to work

- Screening and interviewing candidates so every CV you send is one you'd stake your reputation on
- Building tight, well-presented shortlists that clients can act on quickly
- Managing candidates from first conversation through to offer, start date and beyond
- Arranging interviews, handling feedback, negotiating offers and keeping everyone moving
- Keeping the CRM accurate so the whole team knows where every role stands
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we're looking for
Essential
- Agency recruitment experience, anywhere from six months to several years. We're flexible on the number; we're not flexible on the fact that you've done this before and enjoyed it.
- A track record of actually filling roles, whatever the volume
- Genuinely good on the phone, and comfortable with candidates at every level from shop floor to senior leadership
- Organised enough to run eight to ten live roles at once without dropping any of them
- Someone who does what they say they'll do, when they said they'd do it
Nice to have
- Experience in engineering, manufacturing, energy, offshore, marketing or HR recruitment
- Familiarity with a CRM/ATS and LinkedIn Recruiter
Your salary will reflect your experience, a strong recruiter two or three years in will be paid accordingly, and someone earlier in their career will be brought in at the right level with a clear path upwards.
What you get from us
- Competitive base salary, set against your experience, plus uncapped commission, no threshold games, no moving goalposts
- Mostly retained and exclusive perm work, plus a growing temp client base. Roles you can actually fill, not speculative ones you’ll never close.
- Warm, active desks. You will not spend your first three months building a client list.
- Flexible working and an early Friday finish, we trust people to manage their own time
- A tight-knit team with hands-on backing from the business owner
- Real earning potential. Our most experienced recruiters earn serious money, they are on good basics plus commission.
- Real progression. into senior delivery, a 360 desk or team leadership, whichever fits you
- A grown-up culture. No clapping when a deal lands, no whiteboard shaming, no 7am sales meetings. Just good people who work hard and get results.

Why Imperial
We're a North East recruitment business that's grown on repeat work rather than volume spam. Clients come back to us because we're straight with them, we deliver, and we don't send CVs just to look busy. That reputation is worth protecting, and it's the reason we're picky about who joins.
Most of what we do is retained or exclusive, which means the roles on your desk are real, committed and fillable. We’re also building out a temp client base, so there’s plenty to get your teeth into.
We'll be honest: culture fit matters to us as much as recruitment skill. We'd rather wait for the right person than fill this seat quickly.
