Recruitment Consultant — Leeds
Most recruitment jobs are advertised in more or less the same way. "Driven, resilient, target-driven team player wanted." I've no idea what those adverts are supposed to tell you, so I'm going to try something different and just be straight with you.
We're Broster Buchanan in Leeds. We place finance people (mostly) into public sector, not-for-profit, housing, education and cultural organisations (mostly) across Yorkshire and the North. We occasionally work with private companies and roles a little outside of finance, but the core theme is that we work with good companies doing good things. It's a specialism, it's a good one, and it means the work is more consultative than the churn-and-burn you might have had elsewhere. We build proper relationships with clients, have actual conversations with candidates, and do the kind of headhunting where you get to be genuinely good at something rather than just fast.

- You've done a year or two in recruitment and you're decent at it, but you've hit the point where the desk you're on feels a bit small, or the place you're at cares more about call stats than about you doing the job well.

We are based in a lovely office at Fora in the middle of Leeds. Literally inside the train station with a decent proper coffee machine, 10 different types of tea and snack jars of Haribo, wasabi peas and chocolate bourbons that are far too tempting. We work on a hybrid basis that works for everyone to balance time around colleagues with time from home, usually 3 days around people and 2 from home/wherever suits you best.
