Recruitment Consultant – Data Centres

Manchester | US Market | Hybrid Working

The Opportunity

An established international recruitment business is looking to hire an experienced Data Centre Recruitment Consultant to join its growing team, focusing on the US market.

The business has secured a significant recruitment partnership supporting one of the largest data centre projects in the United States. With approximately 17 live vacancies on the project at the time of briefing, average fees of around $30,000 on these assignments and an established relationship with the client, there is an immediate opportunity for an experienced recruiter to generate revenue while helping develop the business’s presence across the wider data centre market.

The business is now looking to build on this success by bringing in someone with existing data centre recruitment experience who can deliver against live vacancies while identifying and developing new client relationships.

This is an opportunity for a recruiter who wants to take ownership of their market, develop new business and benefit from the financial rewards of working on high-value recruitment assignments.

About the Business

The business is an established international recruitment consultancy specialising in technical, engineering, manufacturing and energy-related markets across the UK and US.

With a strong track record of supporting complex engineering projects and established relationships with major organisations, it has developed a reputation for delivering specialist talent across challenging markets.

The business has traditionally focused on engineering and manufacturing but is now investing in the continued growth of several specialist divisions, including data centres, mining and professional services.

Its data centre operation is already working on a major US project, providing a strong platform from which to develop additional client relationships and expand into other projects across the sector.

The business operates with an experienced leadership team, a collaborative culture and an emphasis on giving consultants the autonomy to develop their own markets.

The Role

The successful candidate will join the data centre recruitment team, taking responsibility for delivering against existing vacancies while helping grow the business’s client base across the US market.

The role is suited to someone who understands the data centre sector, knows where the opportunities are and is motivated to develop their own client relationships rather than relying solely on work generated by others.

Although business development will be a key priority, the successful candidate will have access to existing vacancies and established client relationships, providing the opportunity to generate billings from the outset while building a longer-term business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing recruitment assignments across the US data centre market, from initial candidate identification through to placement.
  • Sourcing, engaging and qualifying specialist candidates for technically challenging positions.
  • Developing a strong understanding of the talent landscape across data centre construction, engineering, commissioning and related disciplines.
  • Building relationships with candidates and establishing talent networks across relevant US markets.
  • Identifying new client opportunities and proactively developing relationships with data centre operators, contractors, engineering consultancies and other relevant businesses.
  • Winning new recruitment business and developing existing client relationships to generate additional vacancies.
  • Taking ownership of business development activity, including candidate-led sales, market mapping, lead generation and proactive client outreach.
  • Working closely with the leadership team to identify growth opportunities and develop the business’s wider data centre offering.
  • Managing candidate and client relationships throughout the recruitment process, ensuring a high standard of communication and service.
  • Contributing to the continued growth of the division through consistent delivery, commercial awareness and a proactive approach to developing new business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Ideal Candidate

The business is open to candidates at different stages of their recruitment career, from consultants with around 12–18 months of relevant experience through to senior consultants and managers.

The priority is finding someone with genuine data centre recruitment experience who understands the market and has the appetite to develop new business.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Relevant sector experience: A background in data centre recruitment, ideally with exposure to the US market. Candidates recruiting data centre projects in the UK or Europe will also be considered.
  • Commercial awareness: An understanding of where recruitment opportunities exist within the sector and how to develop new client relationships.
  • Business development ability: A genuine appetite to win new business, whether through established client relationships, candidate-led opportunities or proactive sales activity.
  • Strong delivery skills: The ability to identify high-quality candidates, manage complex vacancies and deliver results against live assignments.
  • Independence and initiative: Someone who can take ownership of a market, identify opportunities and work autonomously.
  • Relationship-building skills: The ability to develop lasting relationships with candidates and clients across the data centre ecosystem.
  • Ambition: A desire to grow professionally and financially while contributing to the development of a specialist recruitment division.

Candidates who have focused primarily on delivery but are looking for greater ownership of business development will also be considered, particularly where they understand the market and can identify opportunities to develop their own client base.

Why Join?

  • An established foothold in the US data centre market
  • Join a business already working on a major US data centre project, with an established client relationship and a substantial pipeline of live vacancies.
  • High-value recruitment fees
  • The current project generates average fees of approximately $30,000 per placement, with other assignments offering additional earning opportunities depending on the roles being recruited.
  • The opportunity to build a desk
  • Rather than inheriting a tightly restricted market, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop new client relationships, identify new projects and establish their own position within the data centre sector.
  • A combination of delivery and business development
  • The business will provide existing vacancies to work on, allowing the successful candidate to generate revenue while developing their own client base. The intention is to support the consultant’s billing potential without losing sight of the need to build a sustainable desk.
  • Attractive commission potential
  • The business is introducing a commission structure under which consultants receive 25% commission on revenue generated from business they win themselves, subject to the applicable quarterly threshold. Existing delivery and account management arrangements differ depending on the consultant’s involvement in the client relationship.
  • A mature, flexible working environment
  • The business offers two days working from home each week, with standard working hours of 8:30 am to 6:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30 am to 3:30 pm on Friday.
  • Experienced leadership and autonomy
  • Work alongside an experienced leadership team with a track record of developing recruitment markets and building successful client relationships. The culture places emphasis on getting the job done, taking responsibility and delivering results rather than unnecessary meetings and excessive corporate processes.
  • The opportunity to influence future growth
  • The business is investing in developing its specialist markets and is looking for individuals who can contribute to that growth. For the right person, there is scope to develop a significant position within the data centre division as the client base expands.

The Bottom Line

This is an opportunity for a data centre recruiter who wants to combine immediate billing potential with the freedom to develop their own business.

With an established US project, high-value recruitment assignments, an attractive commission opportunity and the ability to develop new client relationships across the market, the role offers a compelling next step for someone looking to increase their earnings and take greater ownership of their recruitment career.
