About the Role
Location: National (remote-based with FE hubs covering the UK) Salary: £28,000 – £36,000 base (+ uncapped commission) Industry: Further Education (FE) Recruitment Contract Type: Permanent
Reed’s five national FE hubs connect talent with employers in life-changing careers. As a consultant, you’ll:
- Grow your book of business by engaging with existing and new clients through proactive business development.
- Drive conversions by attending client meetings and turning prospective clients into active recruits.
- Source exceptional candidates—interviewing and building strong talent pools to meet client needs across education.
- Hit KPI targets while adhering to rigorous audit and compliance requirements.
Beyond recruitment, this role offers uncapped earning potential with a competitive £28,000–£36,000 salary, plus industry-leading commissions and structured support to help you succeed.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain relationships with ** FE clients** (colleges, six forms, training providers, etc.)
- Perform outbound sales calls to capture new business opportunities
- Convert leads into clients through professional negotiations and discussions
- Interview and research candidates—ensuring quality matches to meet client deadlines
- Achieve target-driven performance with clear, challenging goals
- Comply with legal and ethical recruitment standards
- Support marketing and engagement efforts to attract talent and clients

Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in education recruitment (especially SEND–Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) or in resourcing/sales is highly advantageous.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and persuasive negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a high-energy, collaborative team
- Proactive and driven with the motivation to hit targets under pressure
- Commitment to ethical compliance—with a focus on quality in every placement
- Customer service mindset—able to balance client needs with candidate welfare
