Recruitment Consultant – National Security & Defence

Location: Central Manchester (brand-new, state-of-the-art office). Within 5 minutes walk of both St Peters and Deansgate tram stops

Salary: £25,000–£30,000 DOE + OTE Year 1 £50–90k + benefits
Type: Full-time

What you’ll do

As a Recruitment Consultant, you’ll take ownership of a high-impact patch within the UK NS&D market:

  • Manage and grow client relationships with some of the most innovative defence, security and technology consultancies in the UK.
  • Own the full 360° recruitment cycle — from business development through to offer negotiation and placement.
  • Use a best-in-class tech suite
  • Proactively source, market and engage hard-to-find technical talent.
  • Collaborate across our group brands and share insights with colleagues in our national teams.
  • Bring energy, curiosity and commercial acumen to every conversation — you’ll be speaking with senior clients and SC/DV-cleared candidates daily.

About you

You’re ambitious, credible, and commercially sharp — with a background in IT, digital or technical recruitment and a track record of consistent billing success.

You’ll also bring:

  • 2+ years of experience in agency recruitment (IT, Digital, Engineering or Defence preferred).
  • A history of business development and nurturing long-term client relationships.
  • The ability to coach or mentor junior consultants (desirable).
  • Confidence, tenacity and a clear, consultative communication style.
  • The ability to commute to Manchester city centre at least three days a week.
