About Vertical Recruitment

Vertical Recruitment is an established specialist recruitment consultancy operating across the construction, engineering and property sectors.

Our working environment is professional, relaxed and supportive, with none of the unnecessary micromanagement or bureaucracy often associated with recruitment. We have a close-knit team of hardworking and dedicated consultants who collaborate, share information and support one another.

We are now looking for a full-time Recruitment Coordinator to work closely with James Smith, one of our founding Directors, supporting recruitment activity across our Consulting Engineering division.

The Role

As Recruitment Coordinator, you will play an important role in identifying, approaching and engaging talented professionals on behalf of our clients.

Working directly alongside James, you will help manage the recruitment process from the initial candidate search through to interviews and placement. This will include speaking with prospective candidates, discussing their experience and career plans, introducing suitable opportunities and maintaining regular contact throughout their recruitment journey.

This is a fast-paced, telephone-led role involving a high level of outbound candidate engagement. You will therefore need to be confident speaking with new people, comfortable making numerous calls and motivated by building relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Search for and identify suitable candidates using our recruitment database, LinkedIn and other sourcing platforms.
  • Make regular outbound calls to prospective candidates to discuss their experience, career aspirations and potential opportunities.
  • Conduct initial candidate screening calls and accurately record relevant information.
  • Build and maintain relationships with professionals working across the construction and engineering sectors.
  • Match suitable candidates to our clients’ vacancies and recruitment requirements.
  • Support candidates throughout the recruitment process, including arranging interviews, providing feedback and maintaining regular contact.
  • Write engaging job advertisements, LinkedIn messages, InMails, email campaigns and other recruitment marketing content.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate and vacancy information within our recruitment database.
  • Follow up on applications, referrals, previous conversations and ongoing recruitment activity.
  • Identify potential business-development opportunities through candidate conversations, market information and industry leads.
  • Ask for referrals and recommendations to expand our professional network.
  • Provide general administrative and coordination support to James and the wider recruitment team.
  • Help ensure every candidate receives a professional, responsive and positive experience.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
