Recruitment Executive

Human Resources | Specified Purpose Contract - Maternity Leave Cover

Are you looking for your next step in recruitment, and the opportunity to break into the world of five-star luxury hospitality?

The Merrion Hotel is seeking a Recruitment Executive to join our Human Resources team on a specified purpose contract to provide maternity leave cover.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 3-4 years' recruitment or HR experience who wants to build their experience in a fast-paced, high-standard environment and gain exposure to recruitment across a wide range of roles and departments.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you will play a central role in attracting and selecting great people for the hotel and ensuring that every candidate receives a professional and positive experience of The Merrion.

What You'll Be Doing

No two days will be quite the same. You will manage recruitment activity across the hotel from vacancy through to offer, including:

  • Working closely with department managers to understand their recruitment needs.
  • Drafting engaging and accurate job advertisements.
  • Managing vacancies and applications through Occupop.
  • Screening and shortlisting candidates.
  • Coordinating interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Conducting the HR element of candidate interviews.
  • Managing second-stage interviews where required.
  • Keeping recruitment records, candidate notes, and systems accurate and up to date.
  • Completing and verifying employment references.
  • Preparing and communicating offers of employment.
  • Communicating professionally with unsuccessful candidates.
  • Preparing and publishing the hotel's weekly vacancy list.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for recruitment queries across the hotel.
  • Supporting recruitment open days and attending careers and recruitment fairs.
  • Building relationships with hotel schools and colleges across Ireland and Europe.
  • Developing relationships with community and employment organisations in Dublin.
  • Coordinating work experience and Transition Year placements.
  • Maintaining recruitment metrics and supporting the Director of Human Resources with recruitment planning.

What We're Looking For

You will need to be comfortable working at pace while maintaining a keen eye for detail. Recruitment involves multiple candidates, managers, interviews, and deadlines at any one time, so strong organisation and follow-through are essential.

For this role, we are looking for:

  • 3-4 years' experience in recruitment, HR, or talent acquisition.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy.
  • Strong organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Confidence communicating with candidates and managers at all levels.
  • A warm, professional, and engaging approach.
  • Strong administrative and systems skills.
  • The ability to take ownership of tasks and follow them through to completion.
  • Discretion and an understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
  • Genuine interest in people, recruitment, and creating a strong candidate experience.

Previous hospitality experience is not essential. What matters is that you have a strong recruitment foundation, high standards, and an interest in developing your career within the luxury hospitality industry.
