People and culture at Unifrog

You’ll be joining Unifrog at an exciting time. We now have 2 million students using the platform each year, we work with over 5,000 schools, universities, and employers, and we have 120 people on the team. We’re super proud of the supportive culture we’ve fostered over that time.

As a People team, we support that culture by: trusting our team; removing roadblocks and encouraging autonomy; making an effort to understand everyone’s different wants and needs and using that information to tailor what we offer; and caring about each team member while creating processes that allow them to work at their best. If this fits with your view of what a People team should do, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll do

As Recruitment Lead, your key role is to attract and appoint a diverse range of outstanding applicants. To that end, you’ll continue to develop our recruitment ethos: to set candidates up for success through a fair and inclusive process, while testing skills and capability over experience.

As a small team, each People team member also has the opportunity to be involved in other areas beyond their core role. This role has a specific focus on developing and maintaining our excellent Unifrog perks and benefits and, alongside support from the team, providing a fantastic experience at our office HQ in Hoxton, London.

Your main responsibilities:

Recruitment (~70% of the role, varying week to week)

  • Lead recruitment end-to-end, ensuring a high-quality, fair, and consistent candidate experience.
  • Work with hiring managers to design job descriptions, interview processes, and scoring guidelines.
  • Post our live roles on the relevant job boards (e.g. Escape the City, LinkedIn).
  • Manage our Applicant Tracking System (ATS), review applications, update candidates, and schedule interviews. We’re in the process of switching our ATS, and you’ll play a leading role in setting up and developing this.
  • Lead interview panels and support with phone interviews and tasks.
  • Manage offers, including offer calls and contracts.
  • Write regular whole-company updates to keep the team informed about new joiners and new roles, alongside reminders about key Unifrog updates.
  • Lead on projects to improve recruitment, including creating guidance on AI use in recruitment, interview best practice, and the candidate hub.
  • Manage the visa application process and provide support to employees requiring visa sponsorship.
  • Monitor and manage our Recruitment inbox, being the first point of contact for queries from candidates.
  • Work with the rest of the People team on the onboarding process, which is currently led by our People Assistant.

Unifrog perks and benefits (~20% of the role)

  • Gather team feedback and data about current and potential new benefits.
  • Use this information to improve existing benefits and introduce new ones.
  • Manage the rollout of new benefits. Recent examples include interest-free loans from Unifrog and a co-working allowance for all remote team members.
  • Administer current benefits, such as SimplyHealth, life insurance, and health insurance for our Hong Kong office.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Office support (~10% of the role)

  • With support from the team, take the lead on organising our modest London office space, making sure that the layout supports team needs and wellbeing.
  • Re-stock and check our equipment, tech, and supplies.
  • Be a point of contact for external staff (e.g. building managers) for all our offices, in London, Edinburgh, and Hong Kong.

Equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI)

At Unifrog, everyone is responsible for creating an equitable and inclusive place to work. In addition, each person on the People team also has specific EDI responsibilities which link to their role, and is given training and coaching to support them with this.

  • Make sure our recruitment processes are equitable and inclusive. E.g. create and uphold guidelines to support consistency during interview panels; review our job descriptions to make sure they’re inclusive, accessible, and reflective of the role and skills needed.
  • Review anonymised demographic data from our candidate pool to understand trends and improve our processes.

Working together

You’ll work closely with our current People team, including our two People Leads, People Assistant, Internal Communications and Events Lead, Head of People Operations, and People and Operations Director.

You’ll have regular contact with people across all of our teams. You’ll need to build great professional relationships with team members to deliver an excellent recruitment process.

You’ll be line-managed by the People and Operations Director.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build great professional relationships.
  • Excellent attention to detail, especially when creating JDs or rolling out new benefits.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to coach, challenge, and guide team members involved in hiring.
  • Ability to convert hiring data into actionable insights.
  • Experience of managing multiple and competing priorities.
  • Experience of using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and ideally designing recruitment processes (including application and interview questions, and scoring guidelines).
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently, and happy to ask for support when it’s needed.
  • Strong reflection skills and a proactive attitude, demonstrating the ability to learn and adjust based on feedback. For example, moving beyond active job applicants to proactively identify talent pools and changing our approach based on what works.
