Desk Lead – Cost Management
Industry: Construction & Property
Location: London – Hybrid | 2 Days in London, 3 Days from Home
At Rotate Recruitment, we're growing our specialist Cost Management division and are looking for an experienced recruiter to take ownership as Desk Lead.
This is an opportunity to take over an established, active market rather than starting from scratch. You'll have access to live vacancies, existing clients, an established candidate network, and the support of the wider Rotate team. You will also be assisted by a fantastic recruitment consultant who is a specialist in the market.
We're looking for an ambitious 360 recruiter who wants to take ownership of a specialist desk, generate serious revenue, and ultimately build a team around them.
The Opportunity
As Desk Lead – Cost Management, you'll take ownership of the desk across the UK, working across Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, and Commercial Consultancy markets.
You'll work closely with our Directors and existing specialist recruiters, with the opportunity to develop existing client relationships, win new business, and build your own market.
The role is suited to someone who is already successful in recruitment and wants more ownership, earning potential, and progression.
What You'll Be Doing
- Take ownership of the UK Cost Management recruitment desk.
- Manage and develop existing client relationships and PSL accounts.
- Recruit Cost Managers, Senior Cost Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and Commercial professionals.
- Manage the full 360 recruitment process from business development through to placement.
- Manage and work with an experienced recruiter from day one, with experience on the cost management desk.
- Develop new clients and grow your own portfolio.
- Build a strong candidate network across the Cost Management market.
- Develop and execute a strategy for growing the desk.
- Take responsibility for revenue, pipeline, and performance.
- Work closely with the Directors on key accounts and business development.
- Build relationships with senior candidates and decision-makers.
- Support and eventually mentor additional recruiters joining the desk.
- Progress towards building a specialist Cost Management team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who We're Looking For
