At Specialist Passenger Solutions (SPS) we are dedicated to providing the perfect journey.

SPS was formed in 2016 and serves the passenger transport needs of the EDF Nuclear Project at Hinkley Point C (HPC) in Bridgwater, the largest construction project in Europe. We are the only transport provider for the thousands of people who go to the construction site daily to work or visit. We are now bringing this experience to Sizewell C in Suffolk, providing safe, reliable, and efficient transport for its workforce.

We are first and foremost a people business with our colleagues and clients at our heart. We bring together an exceptional mix of people to provide specialist passenger transport solutions, delivering excellence in all that we do.

We continue to invest in our people, our services and state-of-the-art technology as we look to improve our customers’ experiences. Our drivers undergo rigorous training focused on safety, responsibility, and customer service, ensuring those on board have an enjoyable journey.

SPS is a division of First Bus.

A key role within our HR function, you’ll lead our attraction and talent strategy, helping us attract and retain the very best people.

From building our employer and community profile, advertising and sourcing great talent, through to selection, onboarding and retention, you’ll own the end-to-end colleague journey and help us maintain a strong, skilled and engaged team.

Duties include:

  • Lead and inspire our recruitment team, attracting exceptional people who bring the right skills, values and personality to our organisation.
  • Shape and deliver our recruitment strategy, working closely with the People Director and Head of People to ensure we have the talent we need, when we need it.
  • Own the recruitment pipeline, partnering with Operations to anticipate workforce needs and ensure we maintain the right level of talent and capability.
  • Plan for the future, working with the People Director and Head of People on our end-of-project strategy, including effective communication, re-skilling and supporting colleagues through change.
  • Be our ambassador in the community, building our profile as an employer that attracts, develops and values great people.
  • Think differently about attraction, working with Communications to create fresh, engaging and inventive campaigns that get the best talent excited about joining us.
  • Provide insight and challenge on talent, workforce planning and recruitment trends to support informed decision-making.
  • Use recruitment data and insight to identify opportunities, measure impact and continually improve our approach to attracting and retaining talent.
  • Ensure full compliance across all recruitment requirements, including Right to Work, DVLA checks, safety-critical medicals, background checks and relevant legislation and company policies.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
