Recruitment/Resourcing Manager

Manchester

Circa £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Full-time, Permanent

Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced recruitment professional to lead and develop a busy recruitment function within a respected research-led organisation. Reporting into the senior HR team, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality end-to-end recruitment and resourcing service, ensuring the attraction, selection and retention of talented individuals across a wide range of specialist, technical and professional roles.

This role combines operational recruitment management with strategic workforce planning, giving you the opportunity to shape recruitment processes, enhance employer branding and support long-term talent attraction initiatives.

The role involves:

  • Leading and managing the recruitment service, ensuring an efficient, professional and candidate-focused experience.
  • Managing end-to-end recruitment campaigns across a variety of roles and levels.
  • Developing and implementing recruitment and resourcing strategies aligned to workforce requirements.
  • Partnering with hiring managers to identify recruitment needs and deliver effective hiring plans.
  • Providing expert advice on recruitment best practice, selection methods and employment legislation.
  • Overseeing applicant tracking systems and recruitment platforms, ensuring data accuracy and efficient processes.
  • Managing immigration-related recruitment activity, including sponsorship, visas and right to work compliance.
  • Leading, mentoring and developing Recruitment Officers while driving continuous service improvement.
  • Developing recruitment marketing materials, employer branding initiatives and social media recruitment campaigns.
  • Monitoring recruitment performance data, producing reports and managing recruitment budgets and supplier relationships.

You’ll need:

  • CIPD Level 7 qualification in Human Resource Management, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Degree-level education in HR Management, Recruitment, Business or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience within an HR or recruitment environment delivering end-to-end recruitment services.
  • Experience developing recruitment or resourcing strategies and advising managers on recruitment best practice.
  • Previous line management experience with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation, recruitment governance and compliance requirements.
  • Working knowledge of UK immigration processes and Home Office right to work requirements.
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems, HR systems and recruitment platforms.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work to deadlines and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a commitment to equality, fairness and excellent candidate experience.
