You Will

You will be joining the Recruitment & Attraction team, focusing on our digital marketing and social media presence as an employer.

We are recruiting for two Recruitment Marketing Consultant roles, each with a different focus but working closely together as part of one team.

One role will focus on Social Media & Employer Brand

  • Using digital marketing, content creation and creative campaigns to tell our story, engage audiences and promote the opportunities available at Dorset Council through the WorkForDorset channels.

The other role will focus on Talent Attraction & Candidate Experience

  • Supporting our recruitment approach, improving the candidate journey and helping us understand how we can attract the skills and talent we need now and in the future.

Both roles will give you the opportunity to evidence the impact that creative, brave and targeted approaches can have on recruitment and talent pipelining. You’ll help demonstrate our value as a team and how we can make a difference to the council by helping provide the right talent to support and run services.

What you can expect to be doing

  • Use your knowledge of digital marketing and/or recruitment to support activity that attracts, engages and connects with target audiences
  • For the Social Media & Employer Brand role, coordinate a forward plan of content, tailor activity to different audiences, schedule and optimise content, and use paid promotion where required to increase reach
  • For the Talent Attraction & Candidate Experience role, support recruitment campaigns, identify improvements to the candidate journey and use insight to help us attract and retain talent
  • Have the opportunity to identify new tools, partnerships and approaches, from creating relationships with external organisations to supporting events and campaigns
  • Use technology and emerging digital approaches to support an efficient and effective recruitment process
  • Keep up-to-date with trends and changes in the industry to ensure that our approaches remain relevant and make the most of the tools available to us
  • Evidence our success, savings, learning and identify where we can improve through data collection, reporting, case studies and feedback.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
