Recruitment Officer
Location: Nottingham
Contract: Temporary – potentially until January
Hours: 22.5–25 hours per week across 4 or 5 days
Salary: £17.50 per hour
Working pattern: Minimum 3 days per week on site, with 1–2 days from home
The Opportunity
My client is looking for an experienced, hands-on HR & Recruitment Officer to join the team on a part-time temporary basis, supporting recruitment activity across the business.
This is a broad, end-to-end recruitment role where you’ll take genuine ownership of your vacancies rather than simply coordinating an existing process. You’ll typically manage 9–15 live roles at any one time, recruiting across areas including manufacturing, procurement, supply chain and sales. They need someone who can hit the ground running, proactively source talent and provide hiring managers and candidates with a really strong recruitment experience.

What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll manage the recruitment lifecycle from initial brief through to offer and onboarding, including:
- Taking detailed vacancy briefs from hiring managers
- Writing engaging job adverts and gaining hiring manager sign-off
- Advertising roles across the relevant channels
- Proactively sourcing and headhunting candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter and Indeed
- Reviewing and shortlisting applications
- Conducting candidate screening and initial interviews
- Presenting suitable candidates to hiring managers
- Coordinating interviews and managing candidates throughout the process
- Supporting offer management
- Preparing contracts and new starter documentation
- Coordinating onboarding, inductions and initial training for new starters
What They’re Looking For
The key requirement is someone who is comfortable operating as a proactive recruiter. You’ll need previous experience using LinkedIn Recruiter to actively search for and approach candidates, rather than relying solely on applications.

You’ll be a self-starter who can manage your own workload and recruitment administration while keeping multiple vacancies moving at pace.
Just as importantly, Ian is looking for someone who is engaging, proactive and passionate about candidate experience. You’ll be representing SLS in the market, so communication and relationship-building with both candidates and hiring managers will be a big part of the role.
The environment will suit someone who enjoys a varied recruitment desk, is comfortable working independently and takes ownership of getting things done.
