Human Resources Manchester
Circa £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)
12-Month Fixed-Term Contract
35 Hours per Week
This role outlines an exciting opportunity within the Human Resources team at the Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute. As Recruitment Officer, you will provide a professional, efficient and candidate-focused recruitment service, supporting the full recruitment lifecycle from vacancy advertising through to onboarding and induction.
The Role
As a Recruitment Officer, You Will
- Coordinate end-to-end recruitment campaigns
- Support candidates and hiring managers throughout the recruitment process
- Arrange and coordinate interviews, both in person and virtually
- Complete offer administration and pre-employment checks, including right to work verification
- Deliver onboarding and induction activities for new starters
- Maintain accurate HR and recruitment records in line with GDPR requirements
- Produce recruitment statistics and reports
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the HR service

About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Experience working within a recruitment or HR environment
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering an outstanding candidate experience
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Knowledge of recruitment best practice, right to work requirements and UK employment legislation
- Experience using HR systems, databases and Microsoft Office applications
Desirable Experience Includes
- Working within higher education, research or not-for-profit sectors
- Social media recruitment activity
- International recruitment
- Attending interview panels as an HR representative
- Producing recruitment metrics and reports
