- Prepare and publish professional job advertisements across appropriate recruitment platforms, job boards, and social media channels.
- Proactively source candidates using LinkedIn, CV databases, recruitment platforms, referrals, and direct sourcing techniques.
- Review CVs and applications against role requirements and prepare suitable candidate shortlists.
- Conduct initial telephone and video screening interviews to assess candidate experience, qualifications, availability, salary/rate expectations, and suitability.
- Coordinate technical and management interviews with relevant hiring managers.
- Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process and provide a professional candidate experience.

- Verify candidate qualifications, competency certificates, employment history, and other role-specific documentation.
- Coordinate Right to Work documentation and support employment compliance checks before candidates commence employment.
- Ensure candidate records and recruitment documentation are maintained accurately and securely in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
- Maintain recruitment trackers, vacancy reports, candidate databases, and recruitment pipelines.
- Monitor vacancy progress and provide regular recruitment updates to HR and management.
- Build and maintain talent pools for frequently recruited positions and future project requirements.
- Develop relationships with recruitment agencies, training providers, colleges, and other external recruitment partners where required.
- Negotiate agency terms and monitor recruitment agency performance where applicable.
- Support recruitment campaigns for new projects, mobilisation periods, and large-scale workforce requirements.
- Coordinate interviews, assessments, trade tests, and competency checks where required.
- Support reference checks and background screening processes.
- Monitor recruitment KPIs including time-to-hire, source of hire, vacancy ageing, and recruitment costs.
- Ensure recruitment activities comply with company procedures, equality legislation, and relevant UK employment requirements.
- Support careers events, recruitment fairs, and employer-branding activities.
- Assist the wider HR team with onboarding, mobilisation, and other HR activities when required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
