Salary:

  • London: £33,551 - £35,564
  • National: £29,303 - £31,061

Working pattern: Full-time, Part-time, Flexible working, Job share

Contract Type: One-Year Fixed Term Appointment (with the potential for the roles to become permanent - subject to review)

The Role

We’re recruiting for a Recruitment Operations Advisor here at Justice Digital, Data and Science to be part of our warm and collaborative Recruitment Operations team.

This role is responsible for delivering a high-quality onboarding and induction experience for new starters, ensuring they feel welcomed, informed, and supported throughout their induction journey.

Working within a collaborative squad model, the postholder supports recruiters and other stakeholders by managing onboarding and induction processes, maintaining accurate records and providing responsive communication. The role contributes to a seamless candidate experience and supports continuous improvement across recruitment operations.

This position is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in recruitment or employee experience, with opportunities to contribute to change projects and work closely with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a complex onboarding caseload of up to 40 candidates at any one time, coordinating activity across candidates, hiring managers and third-party suppliers to ensure a smooth, timely and positive journey from offer to start date.
  • Juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting without compromising on service excellence.
  • Communicate with candidates via phone and email, responding to queries in a friendly and timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate onboarding and induction records and activity logs to support recruiters and hiring managers.
  • Coordinate complex onboarding processes involving multiple stakeholders and external providers, rather than solely undertaking transactional recruitment administration.
  • Collaborate with candidates, hiring managers, interview panels and central functions to coordinate onboarding and induction activities.
  • Monitor team mailbox and communication channels (e.g. Slack, Teams), responding to or escalating queries as appropriate.
  • Handle sensitive information and personal data with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Support the organisation of team retrospectives, meetings, and events.
  • Contribute to change and improvement initiatives within the recruitment operations team.
  • Work flexibly across squads and with other Advisors to ensure consistent service delivery.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Experience coordinating candidate onboarding and induction processes, building effective relationships with candidates, hiring managers and external providers to deliver a positive and efficient onboarding and induction experience.
  • Experience using a range of systems and applications, such as HR platforms, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and spreadsheets.
  • Experience of prioritising work and managing a number of different priorities at any one time
  • Experience working as part of a team to deliver a great service and shared objectives

Willingness to be assessed against the requirements for BPSS clearance

Salary Information

Base salary for this role is:

  • London: £33,551 - £35,564
  • National: £29,303 - £31,061

New entrants to the Civil Service joining the MoJ are expected to start at the minimum of the pay band. Existing Civil Servants moving on a level transfer will retain their current base salary or move to the minimum of the pay band for the role, whichever is higher. Existing Civil Servants who are promoted will either move to the bottom of the new grade’s pay band or receive a 10% uplift, whichever provides the greater increase.

Stage 2 - Interviews:

Successful candidates who meet the required standard will then be invited to a panel interview held via Microsoft Teams. At interview stage, you will be assessed against the following Success Profile elements - Experience and the following Behaviours:

Appointments are made strictly in merit order. In the event that two or more candidates receive identical interview scores, the ‘experience coordinating candidate onboarding and induction processes, building effective relationships with candidates, hiring managers and external providers to deliver a positive and efficient onboarding and induction experience’ will be applied as the primary lead criterion to determine the final merit order.

A reserve list may be held for up to 12 months, from which further appointments may be made.
