Working with Shearwater Marine

Our Company

Shearwater Marine Services has a well respected background supporting marine based infrastructure projects. Our company has recognised pedigree from underwater inspection, maintenance and repair contracts to large scale, high profile, marine construction and diving projects.

We have high customer retention and an excellent reputation for providing invaluable and professional assistance to construction industries, renewable energy providers, defence, local government agencies, utilities providers, ports and harbour authorities, consultant engineering firms and shipping and ferry companies.

The Role

Working alongside our Manpower and Recruitment team, you will help identify, recruit, onboard and maintain a strong network of skilled personnel for our existing and upcoming projects. The role combines candidate resourcing with recruitment administration. You will spend time speaking with candidates, searching recruitment platforms, advertising vacancies and proactively identifying suitable personnel. You will also ensure CVs, candidate information, qualifications, training records and recruitment documentation are accurately maintained and available when required. We are looking for someone with previous recruitment experience who is organised, confident speaking with people, proactive and comfortable working within a busy recruitment environment. Previous experience within the Marine, Defence or Engineering sectors is not required. We can provide the industry-specific knowledge needed to understand the trades, qualifications and projects we support.

Key Responsibilities

Candidate Sourcing & Recruitment

  • Proactively source candidates for current and upcoming manpower requirements.
  • Search recruitment platforms, databases, job boards and social media for suitable personnel.
  • Advertise current and upcoming vacancies and contact potential candidates by phone, email and online platforms.
  • Carry out initial candidate screening and understand candidates' experience, qualifications, availability and preferred type of work.
  • Review CVs and identify candidates suitable for current projects.
  • Build and maintain candidate pipelines across key trades and disciplines.
  • Maintain relationships with good personnel between projects and keep accurate records of candidate availability.
  • Assist the recruitment team with short-notice and high-volume requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
