Job type: Permanent full-time
Location: Cardiff – you will be contractually based in the office nearest to you with hybrid working.
Hybrid working: You will be able to work from home and come into the office to collaborate with your team(s) when required. We have flexible core hours, and we don’t believe in a culture of presenteeism. We will discuss what is important to you during the recruitment process.
Salary & Benefits: £43,150 - £48,000 + 10% pension, 25 days annual leave + bank holidays, 35-hour working week, up to 13 flexi-days, private medical insurance, life assurance, and much more!

The role
As Our Recycling And Collections Advisor Operations, You Will Join Our Collaborative Change Programme Team- Experts Who Support Councils To Meet Welsh Government’s Ambitious Beyond Recycling Circular Economy Strategy. You Will Work Alongside Councils Helping Them Design And Implement Improvements To Their Recycling Services, Whether That Is Rolling Out a County-wide Service Change Or Tackling a Localised Problem. You Will
- work with local authority officers to advise on best practice policies to improve recycling and waste services.
- support Local Authorities to plan and implement service changes, including developing or advising on mobilisation plans which are in line with the authority’s strategy
- work as a team to monitor and evaluate current service delivery to identify further efficiencies which align with national strategy and best practice.
- work with people at all levels of a council’s waste service and use your influencing skills to get others on board with proposed changes.
Who are we looking for?
We Are Looking For Somebody With Hands On Experience Of Implementing Improvements To Recycling And Waste Services. You Will Be Able To Demonstrate

- Evidence of significant operational experience in delivering waste collection and recycling services, such as: implementing service changes and mobilising new collection and recycling services; planning and delivering waste collection and recycling services, depot management and HWRC provision and a good understanding of health and safety at work issues in the delivery of waste and recycling services
- Evidence of good influencing and negotiating skills and managing expectations when delivering changes.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with a structured approach to project management and problem solving when delivering recycling and waste services.
Key Role Requirements
- Full Driving Licence
- Travel, as necessary, to locations within the UK (primarily Wales). Occasionally spend time away from home overnight as and when required
