Job Description:

Your impact

Leonardo is seeking an experienced Red Team Consultant to join our growing Offensive Security capability. This role is open to both Senior and Principal level Consultants.

Working within a defence-focused environment, you will deliver threat-led security assessments, adversary emulation activities and advanced security testing for customers operating within complex and high-assurance environments. You will emulate realistic cyber threats, assess the effectiveness of security controls and provide actionable recommendations to help customers strengthen their resilience against sophisticated adversaries.

This role offers the opportunity to be more than a delivery consultant. As one of the key technical members of a growing Red Team capability, you will play an important role in shaping how the service develops. Alongside customer engagements, you will contribute to the evolution of our tooling, methodologies, technical approaches and service offerings, helping establish the foundations for a scalable and highly capable Red Team practice.

You will work closely with cyber security specialists across Leonardo, providing technical input into delivery, capability development and innovation activities. The role combines hands-on offensive security work with research, experimentation and continuous improvement, providing opportunities to broaden your expertise while contributing to the growth of the wider team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about offensive security, enjoys solving challenging technical problems and is motivated by the opportunity to help build something for the future. The successful candidate will become an integral part of Leonardo's offensive security capability, helping to influence its direction while delivering meaningful outcomes for our customers.

What you’ll do as Red Team Consultant

  • Deliver threat-led security assessments, adversary emulation and red team activities within complex defence and government environments. You will work as part of the Leonardo’s delivery teams to ensure the effectiveness of people, processes and technology against realistic cyber threats, producing clear findings and recommendations that improve customer resilience.

Support Red Team Capability Development

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of Leonardo's growing Red Team capability. You will help shape tooling, methodologies, operational processes and best practices, ensuring services continue to evolve in line with emerging threats, customer requirements and industry standards.

Research and Innovation

  • Conduct research into emerging threat actor tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs), offensive security tooling and adversary simulation approaches. Apply this knowledge to continuously improve technical capability and bring new ideas into customer engagements.

Operational Infrastructure and Tooling

  • Support the design, provisioning and maintenance of infrastructure used during red team and adversary simulation activities. This includes the deployment and management of security tooling, cloud-based environments and supporting platforms required to conduct operations safely and effectively.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing

  • Produce high-quality technical documentation, reports and operational procedures. Share knowledge across the wider team through mentoring, collaboration and technical discussions to help strengthen Leonardo's offensive security capability.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
