Rédacteur de contenu - Afrique Francophone (H/F)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Rédacteur de contenu - Afrique Francophone (H/F) based in United Kingdom.

You will join an international editorial team producing high-quality digital content for audiences across Francophone Africa.

Your role will focus on creating engaging, accurate, and SEO-optimized articles for highly competitive digital markets. You will adapt your writing to the cultural, sporting, and digital characteristics of different Francophone African audiences.

The position combines content creation, research, SEO optimization, market monitoring, and continuous content improvement. You will work closely with Content Managers, editors, writers, and SEO specialists to maintain consistently high editorial standards.

The role offers significant autonomy within a fully remote, multicultural, and quality-focused environment. It is an excellent opportunity for a sports and digital content enthusiast looking to develop their editorial and SEO expertise in an international setting.

Accountabilities

  • Write original, high-quality, accurate, and engaging articles while following editorial briefs, structures, standards, and brand guidelines.
  • Adapt writing style and content approach to the specific audiences and characteristics of Francophone African markets.
  • Ensure all published information is accurate, clear, relevant, and up to date.
  • Produce a consistent volume of content while meeting deadlines, SEO requirements, and quality standards.
  • Conduct thorough research into sports topics, market trends, operators, and relevant news to deliver reliable and current information.
  • Provide in-depth expertise or first-hand knowledge on relevant topics whenever possible.
  • Apply SEO best practices, including strategic keyword placement, internal linking, meta tags, and optimized article structures.
  • Follow SEO briefs and editorial guidelines to improve content visibility, relevance, and performance.
  • Work with SEO specialists and Content Managers to optimize existing content and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Review content performance when required and incorporate data-driven insights and editorial feedback into future work.
  • Regularly update existing articles to ensure information remains accurate, relevant, and current.
  • Collaborate with Content Editors and other writers to maintain consistent quality, tone, and messaging across platforms.
  • Participate in editorial reviews and team meetings to continuously improve content quality and working processes.
  • Communicate proactively about progress, challenges, content opportunities, and new ideas.
  • Ensure all content complies with editorial standards, brand guidelines, and applicable regulations relating to sports, betting, and iGaming.
  • Maintain a neutral, accurate, and responsible approach when writing about operators, games, betting, and predictions.
  • Thoroughly proofread content before submission to minimize editorial corrections and ensure publication-ready quality.

Requirements

  • Excellent written French skills, with the ability to produce clear, engaging, structured, and web-friendly content.
  • Strong professional English skills for effective collaboration with international teams.
  • Previous experience in web writing, SEO copywriting, digital journalism, or a similar editorial role.
  • Experience in sports, sports betting, iGaming, or related industries is highly advantageous.
  • Good understanding of SEO fundamentals and web content best practices.
  • Excellent research, fact-checking, analytical, and information-synthesis skills.
  • Ability to adapt writing style and content to different audiences and Francophone African markets.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to editorial accuracy, quality, and reliability.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a distributed international team.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple topics and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Genuine interest in sports news, digital media, and the online gaming industry.
  • Ability to incorporate editorial and SEO feedback constructively and efficiently.
  • Experience using a CMS such as WordPress or an equivalent platform is a plus.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
