Job Description
Referral Coordinator
Children Services | Full Time, Permanent | Leeds, Hybrid | £30K plus bonus
ALF Recruit is working with an organisation that supports children and young people. They’re looking for a Referrals Coordinator to manage enquiries from Local Authorities and help identify suitable opportunities across their education and residential services.
This is a busy, people-focused role. You’ll be speaking with commissioners and social workers, working closely with service leaders and keeping referrals moving from the first enquiry through to a placement offer. It would suit someone who enjoys building relationships and can stay organised when several enquiries are moving at once.
What you’ll get

What you’ll be doing
- Reviewing referrals from Local Authorities and gathering the information needed to assess them
- Working with education and residential teams to identify suitable placements
- Preparing placement offers and responding within agreed timeframes
- Keeping referral records and placement availability up to date
- Building relationships with commissioners, social workers and internal teams
- Helping coordinate a smooth start when a placement is agreed
- Sharing updates and referral data at regular meetings

What we’re looking for
- Experience in referrals, placements or commissioning within education, social care or a related setting
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to build relationships quickly
- The ability to manage several referrals and deadlines at once
- Good attention to detail and confidence using Microsoft Office and databases or CRM systems
- Knowledge of children’s residential care, fostering or SEND education would be an advantage
