About the service
The Residential Growth Programme is dedicated to expanding and enhancing residential services for children and young people. Our mission is to develop new children's homes and improve existing ones, ensuring high-quality care and support. We focus on creating safe, nurturing environments that promote the wellbeing and development of every child. Our team collaborates with Local Authorities, healthcare providers, and community organisations to meet the diverse needs of children in care. Join us in making a difference by providing stable and loving homes for children who need it most.
We are looking for an experienced Referral Officer to join our friendly Central Referrals Team and offer valued peripatetic support across England and Wales through the administration of the referral process from initial enquiry to placement. The position will provide a customer-focused service, acting as the first point of contact for Local Authority Commissioners and Placement Teams looking for homes for children in care.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
