Role Overview
As a Refined Products Inventory Analyst, you will play a central role in powering Kpler's storage intelligence and driving the expansion of our brand-new inventory product from regional hubs to global coverage. Operating at the intersection of data operations, satellite imagery validation, and oil market analysis, you will ensure the precision, completeness, and strategic value of our global refined products dataset. By mapping terminal infrastructure and translating complex data into actionable market intelligence, you will directly empower commodity traders and market participants to navigate evolving energy dynamics with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Map and classify terminal infrastructure: Identify, map, and classify refined product storage assets, blending units, and interconnection networks by product category and operational function.
- Validate satellite imagery and aerial data: Utilize satellite and thermal imagery to verify storage tank structures, estimate fill capacities, and detect operational shifts or anomalies across key energy hubs.
- Optimize data workflows: Design and streamline scalable procedures for terminal onboarding, quality assurance, and automated processing in collaboration with engineering and data operations teams.
- Integrate market and refinery context: Apply operational knowledge of refinery storage, blending processes, and transport dynamics (pipeline, barge, truck, ship) to maintain high data integrity during market disruptions or maintenance events.
- Support regional and global expansion: Lead the data rollout from current European and North American hubs to global coverage, establishing robust methodologies for new geographical regions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally and support commercial teams: Partner with internal research, commercial, and product teams to share methodology, gather client feedback, and support sales enablement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
