Role Description This full-time Refrigeration Engineer role is based in Ellon and follows a hybrid working pattern, with some tasks suitable for remote work such as documentation and planning. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Installing, servicing, and maintaining industrial and commercial refrigeration systems, including CO2-based systems where applicable.
  • Performing diagnostics, identifying faults, and carrying out repairs.
  • Conducting preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation.
  • Liaising with customers on-site, providing clear updates on work progress, and completing service reports and records accurately.
  • Collaborating with other engineers, adhering to health and safety standards, and providing occasional on-call support.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability in Maintenance & Repair of industrial and commercial refrigeration systems.
  • Practical experience working with CO2 refrigeration systems and related technologies.
  • Skills in Preventive Maintenance, including routine inspections, testing, and system optimization.
  • Background in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical field.
  • Strong Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally on-site and remotely.
  • Relevant technical certifications or apprenticeship in refrigeration or mechanical engineering (e.g., NVQ, SVQ, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of applicable health and safety standards and safe working practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals, and to use diagnostic tools effectively.
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel within North East Scotland as required.
