Role Description
The Refrigeration Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Cambridge. The role involves installing, commissioning, and maintaining refrigeration and cooling systems across commercial, industrial, and residential sites. Daily tasks include diagnosing faults, performing corrective and preventive maintenance, and ensuring systems operate safely and efficiently. The Refrigeration Engineer will respond to service calls, complete accurate documentation, and communicate clearly with customers and colleagues regarding work performed and recommended actions. This position also requires adherence to regulatory standards, health and safety procedures, and company quality guidelines while supporting the delivery of reliable, energy-efficient solutions.

- Strong maintenance and repair skills, including experience with troubleshooting, corrective work, and preventive maintenance on refrigeration systems.
- Knowledge of CO2 and other refrigerants, with an understanding of safe handling practices and relevant environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles, particularly as they apply to refrigeration, cooling, and climate control equipment.
- Effective customer service skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly, manage expectations, and maintain professional relationships on-site.
- Relevant trade or engineering qualification in refrigeration, HVAC, or mechanical engineering; industry certifications (e.g., F-Gas) are highly beneficial.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals, and to complete service reports and documentation accurately.
- Comfort working independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel locally for site visits and service calls.
