HGV Driver vacancy working within the waste disposal area of Street Services.

This position will be based at Chelson Meadow Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC). Operating vehicles such as Articulated (Licence Dependant) Hook Loaders and Skip Vehicles predominately.

Full CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) and Digital Tachograph Card is an essential for the role.

Hours

37 hours per week, 07:00 - 18:00 working a 4 day on 4 days off shift pattern.

Requirements

  • Must have a full HGV/LGV Driving Licence / CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence)

Essential Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety in an operational environment.
  • Knowledge of Road Traffic Legislation
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation
  • Knowledge and understanding of customer standards in a public service

Essential Experience

  • Experience of driving Hook loaders and Skip Vehicles
  • Experience Of Driving Articulated Lorries (not Essential But Advantageous)
  • Experience working in a front-line service customer facing role delivering high standards of customer care
  • Experience of labouring work or heavy manual work
  • Experience of health and safety in an operational environment
