As part of our Market Access team, you will play a critical role in shaping regional access strategies, influencing healthcare decision-making, and enabling the successful adoption of our portfolio across the UK and Ireland healthcare systems.
Role Summary
As a Regional Market Access Manager, you will be responsible for driving regional (sub-national) market access execution for the Napp portfolio and securing sustainable access through strategic stakeholder engagement, contracting, and healthcare system partnership initiatives.
In this field-based role, you will translate national market access strategies into actionable regional and account-level plans, working closely with Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), hospital stakeholders, payers, healthcare professionals, and cross-functional teams to remove access barriers and support optimal patient access to Napp medicines.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping healthcare pathways, supporting successful product launches, and delivering sustainable access solutions that align market access objectives with commercial and patient-focused outcomes.
This role requires significant engagement with regional healthcare decision-makers, hospital accounts, and cross-functional teams to maximize patient access and deliver value-based healthcare solutions across the NHS landscape.
Role And Responsibilities
Regional Market Access Execution & Strategy Implementation
- Translate National Market Access strategies into regional (sub-national) and account-specific access plans and execute them effectively.
- Identify, anticipate, and resolve regional funding, reimbursement, and access barriers impacting the Napp portfolio.
- Drive rapid and sustainable access to Napp medicines by ensuring inclusion within regional formularies, Integrated Care Board (ICB) pathways, and hospital treatment protocols.
- Support successful product launches through proactive market access planning and execution.
- Ensure consistent implementation of market access strategies across priority accounts and healthcare systems.
- Monitor changes within the healthcare environment and regional commissioning landscape to identify opportunities and risks impacting access.
- Contribute to the development and execution of access initiatives that align with brand and organizational priorities.
Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with key regional and local healthcare decision-makers, payers, formulary committees, commissioning bodies, and hospital stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted partner and subject matter expert on market access topics within assigned geographies and accounts.
- Collaborate with healthcare stakeholders to identify shared priorities and implement projects that improve patient access and healthcare outcomes.
- Engage with ICBs, hospitals, and regional authorities to communicate the clinical, economic, and patient value proposition of Napp medicines.
- Support discussions related to health economic evidence, budget impact models, HTA outcomes, and value-based healthcare initiatives.
- Build productive partnerships that facilitate sustainable access solutions and long-term collaboration.

Healthcare System Improvement & Patient Pathway Optimization
- Analyze patient pathways, treatment journeys, and healthcare service delivery models to identify barriers and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement initiatives that enhance patient experience, streamline care pathways, and optimize healthcare resource utilization.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare systems to support service redesign and innovative access solutions.
- Identify unmet needs and opportunities to improve treatment access through partnership projects and value-based initiatives.
Account Planning, Insights & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Accountable for the Market Access component of priority account plans and strategic account management initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Key Account Managers (KAMs), Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs), and other cross-functional stakeholders to develop and implement integrated account plans.
- Actively contribute to Strategic Account Management (SAM) meetings and cross-functional planning processes.
- Monitor access status, implementation progress, and account-specific objectives, ensuring timely execution of agreed actions.
- Gather, analyze, and communicate market insights to Market Access, Commercial, Medical, and Marketing teams.
- Provide structured feedback that supports brand planning, forecasting, launch readiness, and strategic decision-making.
- Foster strong alignment between Market Access, Sales, Medical Affairs, Marketing, and other internal functions.
Contracting & Negotiation
- Develop, negotiate, and manage contracts with Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), hospitals, and relevant healthcare organizations in alignment with brand strategies.
- Lead negotiations relating to pricing agreements, rebates, volume-based arrangements, and patient access initiatives.
- Ensure access agreements deliver mutual value for healthcare systems and Napp while remaining commercially sustainable.
- Maintain full compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry regulations throughout the contracting process.
- Monitor contract implementation and performance to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved.
Market Access Excellence & Compliance
- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with NHS regulations, ABPI Code of Practice, company policies, and applicable legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of stakeholder interactions, agreements, market access activities, and project outcomes.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to ethical conduct, compliance, and responsible business practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve market access processes, operational effectiveness, and ways of working.
- Contribute to the continuous development of market access capabilities and best practices across the organization.
Qualifications
Education
- Preferred: University degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Business, Health Economics, Healthcare Management, or a related discipline.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Health Economics, Market Access, Public Health, Healthcare Management, or related fields are advantageous.
Certifications or Designations
- Essential
- Valid Driving License.
- ABPI Qualification or willingness to obtain within the required timeframe.
Experience
- Required:
- Experience in hospital-focused pharmaceutical roles involving rare diseases, specialty medicines, or high-cost therapies.
- Demonstrated experience engaging with hospital pharmacies, healthcare professionals, and healthcare decision-makers.
- Experience working in Market Access, Key Account Management (KAM), Healthcare Partnership, or similar customer-facing roles.
- Track record of successfully influencing access and adoption within complex healthcare systems.
- Preferred:
- Direct experience in Market Access and healthcare contracting within hospitals, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), or equivalent healthcare organizations.
- Experience supporting product launches, reimbursement initiatives, or healthcare service redesign projects.
- Experience negotiating commercial agreements and access contracts with healthcare stakeholders.
- Understanding of health economics, outcomes research, and value-based healthcare initiatives.

Knowledge & Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of the UK and Ireland healthcare systems and commissioning environment.
- Strong understanding of NICE, SMC, NCPE, and other Health Technology Assessment (HTA) processes and reimbursement mechanisms.
- Sound understanding of health economics, budget impact modelling, and value demonstration principles.
- Proven ability to translate strategic market access objectives into effective regional execution plans.
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and contracting skills.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and external healthcare organizations.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
