We are excited to be exclusively partnered with Hallgarten & Novum Wines, a specialist wine importer and distributor within the Coterie group, and one of the most respected names in UK fine wine.
We are now assisting them in their search for a Regional Account Manager to grow their on trade and independent off trade base across the Midlands.
Ways of working: Remote Field based (West midlands)
The Role
Independent restaurants, bars, wine merchants — the Midlands is full of accounts who want a supplier that actually knows wine, not just sells it, and that's where you come in.
- Prospecting new business opportunities
- Developing and growing existing business
- Forecasting and being the key point of contact for the Hallgarten portfolio within your territory
Work closely with your Sales Manager and backed by a business built specifically to make fine wine easier to buy, move and grow. Every account you open, every relationship you build, adds to Hallgarten's unstoppable momentum across the region.
What you'll actually be doing
- Managing and growing a portfolio of existing accounts while consistently opening new business that fits the company's turnover and profitability criteria
- Cultivating and optimising an active prospect list, balancing time between critical existing accounts and new business development
- Driving the achievement of annual sales and net contribution targets
- Building product knowledge deep enough to converse comfortably with customers and prospects at every level, from independent buyers to sommeliers
- Committing to key supplier targets for priority brands, liaising with the Marketing team on agency-driven activity
- Staying on top of vintage changes, stock positions and major listings and de-listings, and using promotional activity to full effect
- Working closely with Credit Control to uphold trading terms and financial compliance, and reporting regularly on account performance
- Representing Hallgarten at regional and national events, and hosting wine dinners and tastings to build the brand's profile across the Midlands

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Business
Hallgarten & Novum Wines is a specialist wine importer and distributor with a reputation built over decades. Part of the Coterie group, they sit alongside leading merchants, logistics providers and storage specialists who together are changing how fine wine is bought, moved, stored and owned.
Where most wine businesses stick to one lane, Coterie connects all three, giving Hallgarten a level of infrastructure and market reach that's rare in the trade. Built on the values of Partnership, Positivity, Passion, Pride and Progression, it's a business that backs its people to grow — and one on trade and off trade buyers across the country already know and trust.
