Job Introduction
Reporting to the National Sales Manager, you will manage a defined portfolio of customers and geographical area, with responsibility for achieving revenue targets and growing existing business. You will build strong customer relationships, identify new opportunities and provide technical advice and consultation on access requirements.
You will be a key point of contact for your customers, working closely with regional contacts within key national accounts and colleagues across Vp Group. The role involves regular customer engagement, developing joint business plans and collaborating across the business to deliver effective solutions and a strong customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver sales plans for your assigned customers and geographical area, using customer insight and market information to identify growth opportunities.
- Manage and develop customer relationships, acting as a visible point of contact and conducting regular face-to-face account reviews.
- Identify opportunities to increase our share of existing customer business and develop new revenue opportunities.
- Build strong customer partnerships by understanding current and future needs and developing joint business plans.
- Work with colleagues across Vp Group to identify opportunities and support cross-selling to strategic accounts.
- Deliver monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets, focusing on margin, hire rates and product utilisation.
- Manage new business opportunities and complex customer requirements, finding effective ways to meet customer expectations.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, opportunity records, quote bank information and CRM customer details.
- Work closely with Operations, Logistics, Sales, Credit Control and SSC to provide a seamless customer service.
- Ensure solutions meet UK Forks required standards and support the resolution of customer queries and disputes.

What We’re Looking For
- Demonstrable experience in Account Management.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities and develop solutions that generate additional business.
- The ability to understand customer challenges and translate insight into solutions that deliver value and growth.
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with a collaborative approach to working with customers and colleagues.
- The ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Comfortable working under pressure and managing ambiguity.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and taking responsibility for your own development.
- A valid driving licence.
- Experience working within a multi-divisional business would be beneficial.
- Experience of major opportunities, ideally within the construction sector, and the ability to analyse, manage and work with data would also be beneficial.
