Regional Accountant (Car Dealer Group)

Banbury, Oxfordshire

£60,000 Basic Salary + Bonus + Company Car

Performance Resourcing is recruiting an experienced Regional Accountant to oversee the financial operations of multiple franchised car dealerships within a successful and established automotive dealer group.

This is a senior, multi-site position offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced Automotive Dealership Accountant to play a key role within the management team, supporting the continued performance and growth of the business.

Please note: Applicants must have previous accounting experience within a franchised motor dealership environment.

The Role

As Regional Accountant, you will take responsibility for the financial management and reporting across multiple dealership locations, working closely with senior management and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Preparation of monthly management and group accounts.
  • Participation in monthly management meetings.
  • Management and oversight of financial transactions across the dealerships.
  • Debtor control, analysis and reporting.
  • Working capital management and reporting.
  • Overseeing vehicle stock funding and associated controls.
  • Preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Production of budgets, forecasts and financial reports.
  • Preparation of dealership performance and comparison reports.
  • Manufacturer composite submissions.
  • Monitoring financial controls and ensuring appropriate operating standards are maintained.
  • Management and development of the Accounts Administration and Sales Administration teams.
  • Working closely with senior management to identify opportunities to improve profitability and financial performance.

The Successful Applicant

We are looking for an experienced automotive finance professional who can demonstrate:

  • Previous experience as an Accountant within a franchised motor dealership.
  • Experience managing the accounts and financial performance of a multi-site dealership operation.
  • A strong understanding of dealership accounts, manufacturer reporting and automotive retail finance.
  • Ideally AAT, ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or qualified by relevant automotive experience.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of the retail motor industry.
  • The confidence to work as part of the senior management team and positively challenge the business where required.
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to make informed decisions, meet deadlines and implement effective financial controls and operating standards.
