Regional Aftercare Manager

Main Contractor (Building Sector)

Office: Manchester City Centre

Open to Full Time or Part Time

I am recruiting for a Regional Aftercare Manager, to support a Main Contractor based in the Manchester region / North West who are known for their delivery of New Build and Refurbishment projects across the North West. The business, have built a handful of impressive buildings across the City and wider region and are continuing to deliver multiple schemes.

As Regional Aftercare Manager, you will support the regional SLT and be the main point of contact for all things Aftercare within the region. We are open to candidates both on a full time basis and part time (flexible on how that looks).

  • Own the aftercare process, prioritising defects, remedial works, and resource allocation to maximise retention recovery, close out legacy issues in a timely manner to the most commercial advantageous position for the business.
  • Drive the timely release of retentions through proactive management of defects, certification requirements, completion documentation, and client engagement.
  • Manage defect liability and warranty periods, ensuring contractual obligations are fulfilled while protecting the business from unnecessary cost exposure.
  • Lead the commercial assessment of defects and remedial works, quarantining issues, identifying liability, and recovering costs from subcontractors, suppliers and third parties where appropriate.
  • Maintain strong client relationships post-completion, resolving issues effectively to protect customer satisfaction, reputation, and future opportunities.
  • Monitor contractual (upstream and downstream to supply chain) compliance throughout the aftercare period, ensuring all obligations, notices, response times, and service commitments are achieved.
  • Provide regular reporting on retention recovery, defects status, commercial risks, outstanding liabilities, and opportunities to improve project margin and cash flow.
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with Operations Managers to ensure resource is managed for any site day to day management as/when required.
  • Support with the strategy and recovery of costs incurred where liability lies outside of the business
