Claxton combines decades of industry experience, proprietary technology, and exceptional service quality to cut through offshore installation and decommissioning complexity. Globally, we partner with operators and key contractors in conventional energy, decommissioning, and offshore wind, delivering certainty when it matters. Our expert teams anticipate challenges, deliver innovative high-performance solutions, and provide responsive, transparent support at every stage - ensuring seamless project execution and enduring value, throughout the asset lifecycle and across the energy transition.

We are sourcing a Regional Business Development Manager on a full time, permanent basis. Based at our facility in Aberdeen or Great Yarmouth, the Regional Business Development Manager will be responsible for the ongoing management and growth of business within a defined territory and customer portfolio. The primary responsibility for this role is West Africa as part of the Europe & Africa team. The role also supports key accounts and opportunities across the wider region as required. Strong relationship management is critical to maintaining existing business through regular engagement with key client stakeholders and departments. Growth is expected through the promotion and sale of Claxton services to both existing and new customers.

Duties & Main Responsibilities

  • Represent Claxton as the first point of contact with new and existing allocated clients - being an ambassador for the Claxton brand and values at all times.
  • Meet sales and revenue targets as per the agreed plan to support the Regional and Global Plan.
  • Form and build on long term relationships with all key buying decision makers and influencers within the defined customers.
  • Ensuring that through good relationships on-going business is maintained and new opportunities are seized.
  • Increasing the breadth and depth of relationships in the account and using these to generate new business in otherwise un-penetrated departments/divisions or other group companies.
  • Meet face to face with the customer on a regular basis to maintain and foster the relationship, ensure any customer satisfaction issues are picked up and dealt with, in both a timely fashion and to the customer's satisfaction.
  • Act as the enabler to develop relationships at all levels of the client group and support senior level engagement as part of the client growth plan.
  • Develop and maintain a growth plan and pursuit plan for key customers, regions, and opportunities. This should give any reader a good instant overview of the customer, the key relationships, what the strategy to maintain and increase business is, what projects are in the pipeline and what the next actions are in any sales situation.
  • Actively Drive Profitable Growth by meeting agree monthly activity meeting levels (CVRs), Opportunity Creation (CRM Forecast Values and Accuracy) and convert into revenue to meet agreed targets.
  • Qualify sales and overcome objections to ensure the highest quality of sales opportunities prior to handover to the Commercial team.
  • Demonstrate Ownership of sales forecasting back to Claxton Site and Regional management and take a lead role in all internal scheduled sales, forecast, and review meetings.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
