Summary
This role involves leading the development and execution of the Regional Care Cooperative's communications strategy, both internally and externally. The position is crucial for ensuring effective communication with colleagues, partners, stakeholders, media, and local communities. The successful candidate will offer expert advice on communications, manage reputational risks, support organizational change initiatives, and enhance the Cooperative's profile across the region. This is a 6-month contract with a local authority, offering a rate of £28.82 per hour under an umbrella arrangement.
Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and implementation of communication strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Ensure the dissemination of clear, accurate, and timely information to colleagues, partners, and communities.
- Develop and execute campaigns to promote the Cooperative’s services and achievements.
- Coordinate communication activities to maintain consistent messaging across all platforms.
- Produce high-quality materials such as briefings, press releases, newsletters, reports, speeches, and digital content.
- Ensure communications are evidence-based, well-planned, and regularly evaluated for effectiveness.

Requirements
- Significant experience in communications, public relations, media relations, or corporate communications.
- Proven ability to provide strategic communications advice to senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Experience managing sensitive, high-profile, or crisis communications issues.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and deadlines.
- Degree-level qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Media Studies, or a related field.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development in communications or public relations.
- Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., CIPR) is desirable.

Additional Information
- Working hours are 36 hours per week.
- Location: Trinity Road, Bootle, Merseyside, L20 3NJ, United Kingdom.
- The role supports communications for the Regional Care Cooperative across Merseyside and Cheshire.
- Work pattern includes agile working across the region, attendance at Magdalen House, and some work from home.
- Bi-weekly payment schedule.
