Regional Commercial Director (EU)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Regional Commercial Director (EU) based in United Kingdom.

As a Regional Commercial Director (EU), you will play a strategic role in driving commercial growth across the European market by developing high-value client relationships and expanding enterprise business opportunities. This position offers the opportunity to lead complex sales initiatives, engage with senior decision-makers, and deliver tailored payment solutions that support international business growth. Working in a fully remote and collaborative environment, you will partner with cross-functional teams to design scalable commercial strategies while contributing to the organization's continued expansion in the fintech and payments industry. This role is ideal for an experienced commercial leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys building long-term partnerships with enterprise clients.

Accountabilities

  • Develop and execute new business strategies to identify, engage, and win enterprise customers across European markets.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of high-value commercial opportunities aligned with business growth objectives.
  • Lead consultative sales engagements by understanding customer business models, payment challenges, and expansion goals to deliver tailored commercial solutions.
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle for complex enterprise deals, from prospecting and qualification through negotiation, contracting, and closing.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and serve as a strategic advisor on payment solutions, cross-border expansion, and operational optimization.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Risk, Compliance, and Operations teams to design commercially viable and scalable solutions for enterprise customers.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify new growth opportunities and strengthen market positioning.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, networking opportunities, and strategic customer engagements to enhance brand visibility and business development efforts.
  • Foster long-term partnerships with key enterprise clients and ecosystem partners to support sustainable commercial growth.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in business development, enterprise sales, or commercial leadership roles.
  • At least 2 years of experience within the fintech, payment services, or online payments industry.
  • Demonstrated success selling payment solutions, including card acquiring, alternative payment methods, and related financial services.
  • Strong understanding of payment ecosystems, merchant acquiring, payment workflows, and enterprise customer requirements.
  • Proven ability to independently generate leads, develop sales pipelines, and close complex B2B opportunities with extended sales cycles.
  • Experience managing relationships with multiple senior stakeholders across enterprise organizations.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a strong track record of achieving commercial targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Existing professional network within the payments or fintech ecosystem is highly desirable.
  • Experience working in payment service providers or other high-growth commercial environments is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English is required; French or German language skills are considered a strong asset.
