DrainLine Ltd delivers comprehensive drainage services, ranging from minor line blockages to the rehabilitation of main line sewers for both foul and storm systems. The company aims to be the UK's supplier of choice for contractual framework agreements across public utilities, industrial sites, and residential and commercial properties. This is a newly created senior role with real scope to grow. We are building a stronger commercial function, and for the right person this role could develop into a future Commercial Director / Head of Commercial position at board level.
Role Description
The Regional Commercial Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Waltham Abbey. This position oversees commercial activities in the region, including managing contracts, monitoring project performance, and ensuring that services are delivered in line with client agreements and company standards. The role involves developing and implementing business plans, reviewing financial performance, and identifying opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency.

Day-to-day tasks include working closely with operational teams, leading and supporting regional staff, preparing commercial reports, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and partners. The Regional Commercial Manager also ensures compliance with relevant regulations and company policies while contributing to DrainLine Ltd.'s strategic growth in the drainage sector.
Qualifications
- Commercial Management and Contract Management skills to oversee agreements, negotiate terms, and manage risk.
- Business Planning and Analytical Skills to forecast, interpret data, and support informed commercial decisions.
- Effective Team Management skills to lead, coach, and coordinate regional teams toward shared performance goals.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, strong stakeholder management abilities, and familiarity with budgeting and cost control.
- Relevant experience in utilities, construction, drainage, or related industries, along with a degree or equivalent qualification in business, management, or a related field, is beneficial.
- Proficiency with standard business software, a high level of organisational skills, and the ability to work safely and uphold health and safety standards are also advantageous.

This would suit an experienced Senior QS, Managing QS, Commercial Manager or similar from highways, utilities, infrastructure, civil engineering, term maintenance, or a similar operational contracting background.
Location
Waltham Abbey, with regional travel
Salary
£60,000–£75,000 depending on experience
