Build the Future of Commissioning at National Grid

This is a rare opportunity to build a commissioning capability from the ground up setting the standard for technical excellence, developing exceptional people and helping deliver the critical electricity transmission infrastructure that will enable the transition to Net Zero.

We’re appointing two Regional Commissioning Managers—one for the North zone and one for the South zone—to establish and lead a new commissioning capability within Asset Operations. Each manager will build and lead a team of five, creating the expertise, standards and culture needed to support major grid upgrades and the transition to Net Zero.

National Grid’s Asset Operations business keeps more than 300 electricity transmission substations across England and Wales performing at their best through maintenance, installation and refurbishment. As a Regional Commissioning Manager, you’ll have the mandate to shape commissioning across your region: building a mobile engineering team, establishing leading standards and practices, and creating a capability that strengthens delivery for years to come.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
