Part of the Culina Group, Warrens offers storage and logistic solutions for non-refrigerated baked goods, including bread, cake, and patisserie, with a strong industry reputation for its dedication to service.

About the Role

As a Regional Compliance Manager for Warrens, you will lead and drive Health & Safety, Food Safety, Quality, and Environmental compliance across the region. You will work closely with senior operational leaders to provide expert guidance, challenge, and support to ensure compliance with legislative requirements, industry standards, and company policies.

Key Duties

  • Ensure all Health, Safety & Environment policies and standards are met by the depot by influencing and supporting the depot management team.
  • Brief depot teams on updated ways of working, standards, how-to guides, risk assessments, safe systems of work, and QHSE alerts.
  • Ensure fire safety standards, tests, drills, equipment, and emergency lighting are adhered to, and Fire Risk Assessment Report actions are completed.
  • Accountable for completing internal audits at the depot to support assurance, audits, and risk objectives.
  • Provide guidance to the depot management team to comply with internal and external audits and close out requirements after audit.
  • Monitor standards and audit requirements to ensure compliance, highlighting areas of non-compliance to senior depot management and demonstrating a proactive problem-solving approach to resolve any areas of non-compliance (BS 18001, ISO 14001, BRC).
  • Advise the depot management team on all aspects of site Health, Safety & Environment Standards.
  • Deliver and coordinate all Health, Safety & Environment Standards and compliance-related events/inductions to update the management team and new employees.
  • Work with the depot management team to identify and review compliance key performance indicators and suggest improvements and efficiencies to better meet business/legal requirements.
  • Maintain training records and training for MHE.
  • Support and coordinate BRC auditing, following up on BRC non-conformance.
  • Ensure food Safety & Quality Assurance procedures are complied with when performing inspections.
  • Support sites to ensure the attainment of BRC.
  • Support with document control, corrective and preventative action, and trend analysis.
  • Work with site representatives to manage quality management and operating procedures, including all hygiene operations, allergen management, and pest control.

Additional Key Duties

  • Lead Health & Safety and Food Safety governance across the region, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, standards, and company procedures.
  • Partner with senior operational leaders to drive compliance performance through regular meetings, coaching, and performance reviews.
  • Build effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor on Health & Safety and Food Safety matters.
  • Support the investigation of accidents, incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance trends and performance data, providing recommendations and action plans to improve standards.
  • Support customer visits, audits, and inspections, acting as a key contact for external customers and regulatory bodies.
  • Promote a proactive safety and quality culture through training, engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with site management teams to ensure audit readiness and successful completion of internal and external compliance audits.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a Health & Safety and Food Safety management role within a fast-paced logistics, warehousing, distribution, or food manufacturing environment.
  • Recognized Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH General Certificate, NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent.
  • Food Safety qualification and practical experience of implementing food safety management systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, food safety standards, auditing, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and implementing effective corrective and preventative actions.
  • Demonstrable experience influencing and engaging senior stakeholders and operational leadership teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the business.
  • Experience dealing with both internal and external customers, including supporting audits, inspections, and customer visits.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and training delivery skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify pragmatic business-focused solutions.
  • Ability to work autonomously while effectively managing multiple priorities.
