Regional Compliance Officer

To provide support and assistance to the Acting Head of Compliance and the Compliance team in all areas of compliance.

Regional Compliance Officer Responsibilities:

  • To undertake frequent internal environmental, quality and safety inspections and audits.
  • To provide detailed support and assistance to the Acting Head of Compliance in all areas of compliance for a number of Anaerobic Digestion (AD) sites.
  • To support and lead in external inspections/visits from regulatory bodies, appointed consultants, integrated management system audits (IMS, i.e. ISO and OHSAS accreditations) and PAS 110 re-certification audits. To take the lead in drafting responses and identifying pragmatic and cost-effective solutions.
  • To conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to environmental standards and health and safety standards. Identify compliance issues that require follow-up or further investigation.
  • To ensure that all annual reports and pollution inventory returns are completed for the sites as required by the permits, approvals and planning permissions.
  • To provide assistance to the Acting Head of Compliance and Health & Safety Manager with all matters relating to Health and Safety, including but not limited to, the development and review of relevant risk assessments, SOPs, training and driving safety improvements throughout the business.
  • To complete or support with preparing and submitting new permit applications, variations and renewals to the Environmental Agency (EA), NRW and APHA.

This role primarily covers the central and southeast region, however attendance and support will be required across the company’s national network of AD sites. Attendance will be required at Head Office and travel to other locations nationwide from time to time.

Location: Head Office, Milton Parc, Milton Ernest, Bedfordshire, MK44 1YU (with regular UK Travel)
Job type: Full time, permanent, 40 hours per week
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience+ car allowance + bonus
Benefits: 25 days holiday, 4% employer pension and x4 life assurance
