Regional Director – North
Location: Staffordshire-based, with regional travel
Salary: Circa £80,000
Start date: January 2027

The opportunity
We’re working with an established national provider of commercial cleaning, soft services and grounds maintenance solutions. Due to an upcoming change within the senior operational team, they are looking to appoint a Regional Director to lead their Northern operations from January 2027.
This is a high-profile leadership position with responsibility for the operational, financial and commercial performance of a substantial regional portfolio. The role will be predominantly based around Staffordshire, although regular travel across the wider region will be required.
Key responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the operational and financial performance of the Northern region.
- Lead and develop Regional Managers, Service Delivery Managers and wider operational teams.
- Maintain strong relationships with senior client stakeholders and contract partners.
- Ensure all contracts consistently meet agreed KPIs, SLAs and customer expectations.
- Oversee large-scale cleaning, soft services and grounds maintenance operations.
- Drive operational standards, quality, compliance and continuous improvement.
- Monitor contract profitability, labour budgets, resource levels and commercial performance.
- Support the mobilisation and implementation of new contracts, including recent public-sector wins.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen existing client relationships and grow the regional portfolio.
- Ensure appropriate systems are in place for reporting, auditing, workforce planning and performance management.
- Provide clear and regular updates to the senior leadership team.
- Develop a positive, accountable and customer-focused culture across the region.
- Support succession planning and the continued development of the regional management structure.

About you

- Previous responsibility for a sizeable multi-site service operation.
- Experience managing large public-sector, local authority, emergency services or other complex contracts.
- Strong commercial and financial understanding, including responsibility for regional budgets and profitability.
- Experience leading managers and large operational workforces.
- A proven track record of maintaining and improving client relationships.
- Experience managing service delivery across geographically dispersed sites.
- The ability to balance operational detail with wider strategic and commercial priorities.
- Strong knowledge of KPIs, SLAs, audits, mobilisation and contract governance.
- A confident, credible and consultative leadership style.
- The ability to manage change while maintaining continuity for clients and employees.
- A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel regularly across the region.
