The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a growing, reputable property consultancy seeking an experienced MRICS qualified Chartered Surveyor to step into a Regional Director role within their Building Surveying function. This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of a regional team, leading technical delivery, performance, and commercial growth across the Midlands and North.
Key Responsibilities
As Regional Director, you will:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a regional team of Building Surveyors, ensuring high technical standards and commercial efficiency
- Take accountability for recruitment, utilisation, team wellbeing, and growth planning
- Continue to deliver senior-level technical work, including project management and contract administration on projects ranging from £50k to £3m+
- Act as Principal Designer under CDM Regulations and advise on Building Safety Act related reporting
- Prepare schedules of dilapidations, condition surveys, lifecycle reports, and reinstatement cost assessments
- Drive business development, strengthen client relationships, and secure new instructions across residential and commercial portfolios
- Contribute strategically to regional and national growth as part of the wider leadership group

What Success Looks Like
- Building and retaining a high-performing surveying team
- Delivering strong fee income and profitability across the region
- Strengthening client relationships and winning repeat business
- Maintaining robust technical standards on complex instructions
- Playing an active role in shaping the firm’s strategic direction
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- MRICS qualified with 5+ years’ post-qualification experience
- Proven experience leading or managing a surveying team
- Strong commercial mindset with a track record of driving growth
- Deep technical knowledge of construction, building pathology, and contract administration
- Full, clean UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required
Highly Desirable:
- Experience in residential property management
- Experience as Principal Designer under CDM 2015
- Building Safety Act / Higher Risk Building instruction experience
- Major remediation or compliance project monitoring
- Mentoring APC candidates
- AutoCAD capability
