Job Introduction
At Avery Healthcare, we're more than a care provider. We're a community of passionate, dedicated professionals united by a shared purpose: creating meaningful lives together.
As one of the UK's leading providers of luxury elderly care, with more than 100 homes across the country, we know that exceptional resident experiences start with exceptional people. That's why we invest in our teams, celebrate success, champion personal growth, and create an environment where people feel valued, supported, and empowered to make a difference.
When you join Avery, you'll be part of an ambitious, forward-thinking organisation that genuinely cares about its residents and colleagues. You'll have the opportunity to influence care at scale, work alongside talented leaders, and play a vital role in driving quality, performance, and continuous improvement across our homes.
We're now looking for an experienced Regional Director to join our Operations team in the North Division. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a commercially focused and people-centred leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional care, developing high-performing teams, and driving operational excellence across a portfolio of homes.
About The Role
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across a portfolio of care homes, ensuring outstanding resident care, strong commercial performance, and regulatory compliance.
Working closely with Home Managers and central support teams, you'll create a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and excellence, helping our homes achieve their full potential while delivering exceptional resident experiences.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Providing inspirational leadership, coaching and support to Home Managers, developing high-performing teams and building a strong pipeline of future talent across the region.
- Driving quality, compliance, occupancy, profitability and operational performance, ensuring homes consistently meet regulatory requirements, Avery standards and business objectives.
- Conducting regular home visits, audits and performance reviews, using data and insight to identify opportunities, manage risk and deliver continuous improvement.
- Building strong relationships with residents, families, regulators, commissioners and key stakeholders, acting as an ambassador for Avery Healthcare within your region.
- Supporting homes through operational challenges, safeguarding matters, complaints, commissioning activities and wider business initiatives, ensuring residents remain at the heart of every decision.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
