Salary: £60,000–£65,000 plus industry-leading benefits
Location: Hybrid regional role across Somerset and the South West, based from our Weston-super-Mare HQ
Reports to: Chief Quality and Operations Officer

Twelve nurseries. One region. A chance to make it the best in the country.
Family Adventures Group, a Sunday Times Best Place to Work, is hiring a Regional Director to lead 12 nurseries across the South West. This is a senior multi-site early years operations role for an experienced Regional Manager, Area Manager or Operations leader who's ready to own a region and shape how it grows.
About Us
Our purpose is Empowering the Generations of Tomorrow. We run nurseries across Somerset, the Midlands and South Wales under our Little Adventures and Green Giraffe brands, alongside our family leisure venues. We're values-led (Accountable, Reliable, Caring and Honest), founder-led and growing, with acquisitions and new openings planned.
We're proud to be recognised as:
- Sunday Times Best Places to Work (Large UK Company, 2025/26)
- Great Place to Work® Top 100 Large UK Company (2025/26)
- Top 20 UK Large Nursery Group (2025/26)
- UK Top 100 Best Workplace for Women, for Development and in Education (2025/26)
The Role
You'll have end-to-end accountability for quality, compliance, people and commercial performance across our South West region of 12 nurseries.
You'll lead and develop our Nursery Managers, line manage the Curriculum & Practice Lead, and turn group strategy into a clear regional plan. You'll work alongside our second Regional Director to keep standards consistent across the Group, supported by central teams in People & Culture, Safeguarding & Inclusion, Customer Success, Finance, Estates and Training.
This is a role for someone who combines strong operational grip with a genuine passion for early years education, and who builds managers who can deliver without constant central support.
What You'll Lead
Regional operations
- Set clear expectations and a regional operating plan, backed by performance reviews, nursery visits and data
- Spot underperformance early and lead proportionate, decisive improvement
- Lead the response to significant incidents, complaints and inspection outcomes

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
