Director of Sales and Marketing
As a specialist recruitment consultant within the luxury hospitality sector, I am delighted to present an exceptional opportunity for a Director of Sales and Marketing to join a deluxe UK hotel.
This Director of Sales and Marketing role is a senior commercial leadership position with full oversight of sales, marketing, and revenue functions, suited to a strategic and commercially astute leader who can drive performance across all demand streams. The Director of Sales and Marketing will play a pivotal role in maximising profitability, positioning the hotel within its competitive set, and ensuring all commercial disciplines are fully aligned.

The Role
The Director of Sales and Marketing will be responsible for shaping and delivering the hotel’s overall commercial strategy, overseeing reactive and proactive sales, marketing direction, and revenue management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a cohesive commercial strategy across sales, marketing, and revenue
- Drive total revenue performance across all segments including corporate, leisure, MICE, and group
- Ensure alignment between sales activity, pricing strategy, and brand positioning
- Lead the sales function with particular oversight of reactive sales performance, ensuring strong conversion and enquiry handling
- Identify and capitalise on new business opportunities across key feeder markets
- Maintain and grow high-value client, agency, and partner relationships
- Monitor pace, production, and pipeline activity to maximise results
- Oversee revenue strategy including pricing, forecasting, and inventory control
- Analyse market trends, competitor positioning, and demand patterns to inform strategy
- Provide strategic oversight of marketing initiatives, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives
- Lead, develop, and inspire a multi-disciplinary commercial team
- Work closely with senior leadership to deliver overall business objectives

Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in a senior commercial or Director of Sales and Marketing role within luxury hotels.
- Strong understanding of revenue management, digital marketing, and pro/reactive sales processes
- Demonstrated success in driving total revenue performance and market share growth
- Highly commercial, analytical, and strategic in approach
- Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Well-connected within key market segments and distribution channels
