Job Description

Overview

Join our Project Management leadership team as a Regional Director based in Edinburgh, Glasgow, or Aberdeen. This is an opportunity to help shape the future direction of our Scotland Project Management practice while growing our presence across the region.

This senior leadership role will focus on driving strategic growth, leading major programmes and portfolios, and strengthening long-term client relationships across key sectors including commercial, industrial, logistics, aviation, education, government, and wider public sector markets.

You will be accountable for the performance, direction, and continued development of the regional Project Management practice. This includes leading high-performing teams, securing major commissions, delivering sustainable growth, and creating positive outcomes that enhance the built environment across Scotland.

Your role

  • Provide strategic leadership across the Scotland Project Management practice, setting direction and driving growth while reporting to the Practice Manager.
  • Lead and oversee major programmes, portfolios, and flagship commissions.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to senior client stakeholders, building long-term strategic relationships.
  • Drive regional financial performance, including revenue growth, profitability, and pipeline development.
  • Identify and unlock new market opportunities across priority sectors.
  • Lead major bids, frameworks, and strategic pursuits, securing high-value commissions.
  • Build and inspire high-performing teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
  • Develop and mentor senior team members, strengthening capability and succession planning across the business.
  • Champion excellence in project delivery, governance, commercial performance, and client service.
  • Represent AtkinsRéalis at an industry level, enhancing our market profile and influencing key stakeholders.

About you

  • Degree qualified and chartered (MRICS / CHPP / MCIOB or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in managing complex, high-value programmes and portfolios.
  • Established network across Scotland public and/or private sector client base.
  • Proven track record in securing and growing major client accounts and winning strategic work.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing P&L and driving business performance.
  • Inspirational leader with the ability to build, develop, and retain high-performing teams.
  • Strategic thinker with a clear focus on growth, innovation, and market impact.
