Help Shape the Future of Health & Safety at VetPartners

At VetPartners, we're passionate about supporting our practices to deliver exceptional care to animals, clients and colleagues. Led by vets and established in 2015, we're one of the UK's leading veterinary groups, bringing together respected small animal, equine, mixed and farm practices across the UK.

As our business continues to grow, so does our Environment, Health & Safety function. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that's moving beyond traditional, compliance-focused ways of working towards a more proactive, collaborative and data-informed approach to Health & Safety. We're looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, influencing positive change and helping others succeed. If you're passionate about creating safer workplaces and want to play an active role in improving how Health & Safety is delivered across a growing organisation, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

Based in or around the Central Belt of Scotland, for practical travel; you'll support practices across Scotland and Northern Ireland, through a combination of site visits, home working and close collaboration with colleagues across the business. This is much more than a traditional advisory role. You'll partner with Practice Managers, Clinical Directors and practice teams to embed a positive safety culture, identify opportunities for improvement and support the continued evolution of our EHS approach. Rather than simply identifying issues, you'll work alongside colleagues to find practical, proportionate solutions that improve safety while supporting operational needs. You'll have the autonomy to manage your own region while being supported by an experienced and collaborative EHS team.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Building trusted relationships with Practice Managers, Clinical Directors and practice teams
  • Acting as a trusted advisor on health, safety and environmental matters
  • Partnering with practices to improve Health & Safety performance and embed a positive safety culture
  • Conducting site audits and using findings to develop practical improvement plans
  • Supporting the transition from traditional, manual ways of working to more consistent, efficient and modern approaches
  • Coaching and influencing managers to build confidence and capability in managing Health & Safety
  • Investigating incidents, identifying root causes and driving meaningful learning
  • Delivering engaging Health & Safety training both online and face-to-face
  • Developing practical policies, procedures, risk assessments and guidance that support our practices
  • Reviewing data, identifying trends and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting fire safety compliance and escalating concerns where appropriate
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the wider VetPartners business to continually improve our EHS standards

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
