Regional Engineer

MGF are recruiting a Regional Engineer to join our team based in our Rugeley Depot, covering the Midlands.

As a Regional Engineer, you will provide a key link between the engineering and commercial functions. Your goals will be the development of business relationships, attending meetings, understanding, and managing key projects, presenting to customers and the preparation and checking of temporary works designs.

At MGF, we add real value to our customers' projects by engaging early in the project lifecycle and providing technical support both on site and throughout the design and delivery process. Through this early engagement, we help identify efficient and practical temporary works solutions, reducing risk and improving project outcomes.

We actively contribute to the continuous development of temporary works methods and industry best practice by playing a leading role in the Temporary Works Forum (TWf) and the Shoring Technology Interest Group (STIG). In addition, we promote temporary works awareness and knowledge sharing through our involvement with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Key link between engineering and commercial functions
  • Offering Engineering advice and guidance at meetings
  • Understanding projects and sectors of work in the region
  • Building relationships with key customers and individuals
  • Develop new relationships as and when required.
  • Presentations in different formats (in person and virtual)
  • Production of temporary works designs and drawings.
  • Undertaking checking of designs and drawings
  • Improve MGF brand awareness and personal profile within the region.
  • Learn the effective use of MGF internal systems.
  • Actively contribute to regional sales meetings
  • Attend Regional Engineering and Design meetings as required.
  • Internal design brief training
  • Assisting other areas of the business if value can be added.
  • Business involvement (framework agreements / CPD accreditation / H&S input)

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
