Regional Engineering Manager
We have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Engineering Manager to join the Sunbelt Rentals team. Supporting our team of Service Engineers, Service Centre and Workshop Managers, you'll drive a continuous improvement program based around safety, people, quality, productivity, and equipment availability. You'll also be responsible for a team of field-based Engineers throughout the UK, including the organising and allocation of daily work schedules.
Responsibilities
As Regional Engineering Manager you will work for the power team and your responsibilities will include:
- Ensure highest levels of quality and availability of products; whilst maintaining optimum stock levels
- Prioritise and manage a repair program (Target high earning / UTE % items) ensuring that all assets are fully compliant with current Health & Safety regulations and maintained in line with the relevant service schedules
- Manage quality improvement initiatives & support development of Centres of Excellence model
- Drive technical skills development and apprenticeship programme
- Ensure compliance with all regulations relating to Health and Safety/Quality Assurance including completion of statutory training
- Carry out any investigations for major failure on assets; identifying trends and carrying out root cause analysis with relevant stakeholders
- Field Service Planning for your team of field service engineers throughout the region
- Respond to breakdowns and appoint engineers by identifying most cost-effective solution whilst taking into account customers SLA's
- Appoint 3rd parties where necessary to cover breakdowns and raise order numbers upon completion
- Manage call logging control system for breakdowns and service (including maintenance of Out of Hours call-out rota)

To succeed in the Regional Engineering Manager role you will bring the following skill-set and behaviours:
- Exceptional leadership, team development, and people management experience
- Excellent communication, negotiating skills, and an effective delegator inspiring confidence and empowerment
- Proven operational management experience of a large team across multiple sites
- Excellent planning and organizing skills - able to prioritize workload and work under pressure and to strict deadlines
- Commercial awareness and acumen - understands financial data and P&L with financial cost control and budgeting experience
- Ability to source and analyze data and present results/recommendations
- Experience within the power rental sector
- Driving licence essential - travel within and beyond your region
- Flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing priorities
- Ability to understand and resolve complex business problems
