Regional Event Sales and Brand Activations Manager, New York Markets

Department: Marketing

Reporting to: Director of Marketing, New York Markets

Location: New York (on-site across Time Out Market DUMBO and Time Out Market Union Square)

Salary: $100,000 per annum (existing position, expanded scope)

Role Overview

We love what we do, and it shows. Time Out Market is the division of Time Out that brings our food and cultural experiences to life for our guests, readers and clients.

This role combines two distinct revenue streams into a single regional position: event sales (private hire, corporate buyouts, ticketed events) and brand activations (liquor partnerships, sponsorship-led events, beverage and lifestyle brand collaborations). The role works across both Time Out Market DUMBO and Time Out Market Union Square.

The role reports hard line to the Director of Marketing, New York Markets, who owns the integrated commercial marketing strategy across both sites including the brand activations and sponsorship programme. A strong dotted line to both site General Managers ensures operational coordination on event sales delivery and commercial alignment with site trading.

This is an expansion of the existing Regional Event Sales Manager role. The event sales scope is unchanged. The brand activations scope is new and reflects the commercial opportunity to convert relationships with liquor, beverage and lifestyle brands into incremental site revenue through sponsorship, hosted events and themed activations. The role works in close partnership with the Marketing Operations and Activations Manager, who owns the day-to-day execution of activations across both sites.

Key Responsibilities

Event Sales

  • Handle all incoming event inquiries for Time Out Market DUMBO and Time Out Market Union Square and ensure follow-up the same business day.
  • Cultivate new event streams by interacting with local businesses to cater to their event needs. Consistently strive to increase customer base.
  • Coordinate all administrative event details with clients from inquiry to close, including negotiating, executing proposals, contracts, credit card authorisation forms, processing payments and deposits, developing floor plans, post event follow-up and lost business reports.
  • Work with the chefs and operators of each concession to develop competitive, exciting and diverse catering and event offerings.
  • Coordinate with the Time Out Market Operations Team and both site General Managers on logistical event details, including site inspections, tastings, vendor meetings and day-of on-site client contact.
  • Build and maintain the client database to ensure repeat business.
  • Conduct weekly BEO meetings with both site management teams.
  • Manage the Triple Seat program including conversion of inquiries and lost business tracking.
  • Prepare monthly property sales and commission reports, provided to both General Managers and the Director of Marketing.
  • Achieve pre-set sales budgets and forecasts on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
  • Coordinate with Time Out Media sales teams to capitalise and monetise sales opportunities across media and markets.

Brand Activations and Sponsorship Pipeline

  • Build and own the brand partnership and sponsorship pipeline across both New York Markets. Target categories: liquor, beverage, lifestyle, media, sports and cultural brands.
  • Actively pursue sponsorship revenue: site sponsorships, themed activation sponsorships, programming partnerships, exclusivity deals and seasonal takeovers.
  • Lead the commercial negotiation and contracting of brand partnership activations, including sponsorship fees, in-kind contribution, exclusivity terms and activation deliverables.
  • Work with the Director of Marketing on the strategic integration of brand activations and sponsorships into the rolling 6-month working plan and 12-month overarching plan.
  • Hand off all approved activations to the Marketing Operations and Activations Manager for day-to-day execution. This role owns the pipeline, the contract and the partner relationship. The Marketing Operations and Activations Manager owns the day-to-day execution on the floor.
  • Coordinate with the Social Content Creator on partner-driven content opportunities.
  • Identify and pursue major brand activation opportunities tied to sporting calendars, cultural moments, seasonal trading peaks and city-wide events.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
